The striping plate is sized to only take a small portion of the pollen from the bees so that you leave plenty of pollen for the bees to thrive. It is designed to lower humidity levels thus protecting the pollen and keeping it fresh. It is safe for the bees as they don’t get confused, overheat or disturb them.
